University Projects
Educational technology and design projects from USask Master of Education
I left the imperfections and all.
Computational Thinking
I have been involved in computer instruction in many forms throughout my years of teaching. The first major project of my graduate studies was this paper about Computational Thinking. This was the first paper of wrote since my last university run that ended back in 2010. I thought it fitting to provide it here in all of its rusty complexity.
Final project for ETAD802: Historical and Theoretical Foundations of Educational Technology, Dr. Marguerite Koole.

Program Evaluation
This document includes a program evaluation plan to support the Biggar Independent Education Program. The project set the planning in place, this action plan was not carried out. I learned much through the process, and created a quality plan.
Final Project for ECUR809 - Introduction to Program Evaluation, Dr. Jay Wilson & Dr. Judy Jaunzems-Fernuk
Instructional Design Projects
Video production module plan for Sun West Distance Learning Centre. The plan provides details and mockups of elements that would be used to deliver a video production module for grade 7-9 students as part of the Saskatchewan Practical and Applied Arts curriculum. Modules for grades 7-9 were being developed by our distance learning centre to provide classroom teachers, and DLC teachers, the option to carry out video production in the classroom.
This project was for partial completion of ETAD873 - Instructional Design, Dr. Paula McDowell

As part of the advanced instructional design course, I worked as a member of the Usability Team. We were responsible for analyzing and carrying out testing of elements of the teacher portal, and application being developed for Cree language instruction for adults. Though just a planning document, the development of this project provided lots of connections to the testing elements of instructional design frameworks like ADDIE. The attached project is the final report from the Usability Team. The video provides some feedback to the development team after testing with teachers from my school.
This project was for partial completion of ETAD874 - Advanced Instructional Design, Dr. Dirk Morrison

Video Production
This shot type video is one my proudest moments in my grad studies. My family were such good sports, and the video was really fun to put together.
This project was for partial completion of ETAD476 - Video Production for Education.

Presentation on Participatory Action Research
My course on research methods expanded my understanding of the aspects of qualitative and quantitative research. As a person with a strong science background, the elements on qualitative research were quite interesting.
This project was for partial completion of ECUR 800 - Research Methods, Dr. Davin Hildebrand

App Creation for Early Language Learning
The ETAD803 course allowed me to work with a couple of peers from my school division. For part of the course work we created an app for teachers to supplement the instruction of early language learning. We provided tools, and content to support the development of language and reading skills for the earliest learners. The video shows part of the app the includes a sound board that allows students to hear letter sounds connected with the letter.
